Senior Legal Counsel

(Location: Hong Kong)


Reporting to Senior Director, Legal, this role will collaborate with different business units, particularly those in Hong Kong Division to provide legal advice and support on all aspects relating to property development and property investment functions.


What you’ll do:

  • Be responsible for first-hand sale projects which includes coordination with internal business units and external legal counsels on the preparation of DMCs, pre-sale consent applications and relevant sales and mortgage documentation as well as providing advice on the Residential Properties (First-hand Sales) Ordinance.
  • Advise on all legal issues relating to all aspects of property acquisition projects (direct property transactions, collective sale & purchase, share transactions and joint ventures), draft and/or review relevant documentation and participate in document negotiations.
  • Provide general legal advice and oversee legal compliance in relation to the businesses under Hong Kong Division.


Who you’re:

  • At least LLB degree holder from a reputable university
  • A minimum of 12 years post qualification experience in the real estate sector, preferably in-house experience
  • Qualified lawyer in Hong Kong required
  • Knowledge and experience of Conveyancing and Property Ordinance, Residential Properties (First-hand Sales) Ordinance and the Building Management Ordinance.
  • Good people skills with excellent communications in handling legal-related enquires from stakeholders
  • Responsiveness and strong team spirit
  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese
